Two more performances in Kapiti and Levin which Heti and Adie are really looking forward to before a rest and work on their band album. The first mix of song Here and Now has been sent through and it’s sounding incredible. This will be an album worth waiting for. Album ‘Hidden Plains’ to be released later this year.
Heti & Hope enjoyed the sunny weather of Hawkes Bay and playing at Hygge. “ This was was a treat. The food was great, served us vegans well and we enjoyed the company of all those who came to watch us perform.
Wishing Kerry, Robyn and all the team at Hygge Cafe all the best and an enjoyable rest of the Summer season.”
“ We smashed it !. “ Milo Cawthorne said after he flew down from his busy schedule as an actor to work with Heti & Hope in the studio. Heti and Adie absolutely loved recording with Milo on drums and Ross Laurie on bass guitar. Together, the four worked flat out with concentrated enthusiasm and dedication to detail. Sound engineer, Malcolm Ibell, in his usual calm fashion, was at the helm on his desk in the room opposite, connecting with each musician through headphones. He took his time mic-ing everyone up especially the drums which sound amazing!. Everything ran smoothly over four days. Heti said, she realised, as they were recording the last song, that she didn’t want this part of the work to end it was so much fun. She enjoyed the light hearted jokes that kept everyone up beat in between the songs as well as the musical connection made. It was a great collaboration. All are looking forward to hearing the end result. This album “Hidden Plains” to be mixed and mastered with Malcolm, will be out later this year.
Starting 2026 on tour as a duo Adie and Heti are loving sharing their new songs. These are perhaps even more poetic than the last album of songs. Heti continues to focus on themes around love; care for herself, relationship to others and the world around her.
In addition and only for those who love this kind of thing; like picking a rune stone or dream cards etc.. during intervals of selected performances, Heti is offering a quick free individual and private card reading from her pack of hand designed cards. These positive fun cards have been tested for over a year and proved to be very successful and accurate with no need to say what you are thinking about. First edition packs are still available to purchase, see contact details to get in touch if interested.
After their 2025, NZ national tour with Arts on Tour, Heti is excited to further explore the musical performance style and direction the band heads toward and how the musicians can best fold around her lyrics to hold them in the atmospheric space, between the here and there of fantasy and reality, spirit and material, the personal and the universal worlds, we all live in.
These songs filled with catchy and soulful lyrics, lean into folk, jazz, blues, Joni Mitchell style, with Heti on keys and singing, Adie on electric guitar and violin adding his highly creative spice and catchy rhythms to the unique tunes.
Heti’s songs, Take me on the Road and Love Train were performed by Virtuoso Strings Youth Orchestra playing an orchestral arrangement by Craig Utting with Heti singing in Te Rauparaha Arena, Porirua,
“ This was a wonderful experience, playing with so many talented young members of the Orchestra. The sound arrangement beautifully encapsulated the songs and I thoroughly enjoyed connecting with the players and audience through my music and performing. ”

Original songs written and sung by Heti Hope go deep into the experience of love and living. Early Fleetwood Mac, Carole King, Lou Reed, Joni Mitchell with a love of David Bowie will be somewhere in the background to the composition of these songs; tunes listened to and absorbed throughout Heti’s life as well as a heap of other music, Nina Simone, Bob Dylan, too many to mention. Heti’s songs are observational, about the World, relationships and Humanity, sung with a soulful Spirit.
Performing live, with the sensitive support of musicians, the songs live and grow with unique groove and vitality. This is a band all about sourcing creativity, having a great time whilst performing from the heart, being in the now and enjoying a good crowd where ever they play. Adie and Heti also perform as a duo enjoying the nuances of their musical connection which is embedded in their life long relationship and sharing a few stories.
